Closed Primaries

Your party affiliation will determine which partisan races are on your Primary Election ballot because Florida has closed primaries.

However, the 2024 Primary Election also includes nonpartisan races for school board and judges, a countywide question, and a Universal Primary Contest* for Public Defender, 15th Judicial Circuit that all registered voters, including those registered with a different party or not affiliated with a party.

The deadline to change your political party affiliation for this election is July 22.

*A Universal Primary Contest occurs when all the candidates for an office belong to the same party and the winning candidate will have no opposition in the General Election.
